{"id":3228,"date":"2014-09-25T19:10:24","date_gmt":"2014-09-25T09:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sams-blog.com\/?p=3228"},"modified":"2017-12-09T21:34:46","modified_gmt":"2017-12-09T11:34:46","slug":"death-of-a-teenager-why-were-police-not-asked-obvious-questions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sams-blog.com\/?p=3228","title":{"rendered":"Death of a teenager: why were police not asked obvious questions?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THERE are obvious questions which should have been put to the police in the wake of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/world\/abdul-numan-haider-named-as-man-shot-dead-after-australian-police-stabbed-1.2776156\"><strong>the shooting of Numan Haider<\/strong><\/a>, an 18-year-old Muslim man, in the Melbourne suburb of Endeavour Hills on Tuesday (September 23) night.<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s doubtful that any reporter from the mainstream media &#8212; which appears to function more as a propaganda arm of the government &#8212; will ask these queries.<\/p>\n<p>Why did police ask a person whom they acknowledge was under surveillance to come in for an interview at night, and alone?<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nWhy did police search this man&#8217;s house without a warrant the same evening? If someone is suspected of doing something does that equate to guilt?<\/p>\n<p>Why did police agree to come out and meet this man in the car park? Where the hell have they received training for dealing with people like the teenager?<\/p>\n<p>Why did they not insist on meeting him in broad daylight, in the police station, along with a lawyer or someone else so that there would be witnesses to whatever happened?<\/p>\n<p>Was the knife that Haider had on his person allowed under the prevailing laws in Melbourne? Or did it violate the existing laws?<\/p>\n<p>And finally, why have journalists lost that one trait that should be a hallmark of their character &#8211; scepticism?
